Black Butler - black-butler Photo

A small breeze blew through your (h/l) (h/c) locks, if it wasn’t for the fact you were flying for your life, being chased by two reapers; it would actually be a nice night for flight.
Flying low you brushed through the streets, your lightly undertone wings barely touched the passing buildings. You could hear the men behind you, they weren’t too far off.   “Ugh, where is that brat?”

You turned the corner heading down a darkened street- you elevated yourself with a push- the street was far too narrow to fit your wings. Realizing the risk, you headed to rooftops. The familiar feeling of the wind returned and lifted you higher into the sky, the moonlight faintly illuminating your (s/t) skin; it rustled your feathers some, but you let it carry you ahead.

For a moment it was quiet, almost too quiet for your liking.

“THERE YOU ARE!” the red headed reaper screamed, suddenly you felt a sharp agonizing pain radiate through your right wing;  instantly you cried out to the sky as you heard the flesh and muscle rip as feathers went everywhere.

The pain was horrifying- you felt tears  to weld in your (e/c) orbs and begin to spill down your cheeks, quickly you started to fall out of rhythm as one wing tried to support you.  Your body descended towards the empty stone streets.  Time seemed to slow as you fell, you could see a large bloody gash were Grell had nailed you the crimson liquid had spilled onto you (f/c) dress, and legs staining your skin.

You spiraled down into a dark alleyway, landing with a crash on the cold cobblestone street. “This way, she’s over here!”  You groaned picking yourself up, and scurried down the street feeling something trickle down the back of your leg. “Don’t you want to play anymore?”  “We were only getting started.”

The voice was close behind you now, how close you did not know and you didn’t really want to know. Your (e/c) irises scanned the sidewalk for an escape; most of the buildings were boarded up heavily.  All except one, it was small compared to the others almost like it wasn't supposed to be there you darted inside a quiet ding alerted your arrival .  You scanned for some sort of hiding place-walking further from the door as you did so.  Letting out a yelp, you stumbled over a massive object on the floor. Upon taking a closer look, you discovered it was a coffin, and empty! You slid in, shutting the lid behind you. Not a moment later did the door open and the familiar click of heel.  “Undertaker…. Are you home?” Grell’s voice echoed through the shop..

“Good evening Gentlemen, care for a biscuit?” A new voice asked followed by a crunch, “No… thank you we’re here on business you see, we’re searching for someone, a girl.

“Hehehe, aren’t we all?”

“She’s wanted for several counts of soul stealing; you see she’s a demon of sorts” The reaper replied shortly.

“Demon, female you say?
“Hmmm, let me think now, “(e/c) eyes? (s/t) skin, (h/l), (h/c) hair?” the voice asked sounding somewhat excited.

 “Yes-“William replied monotone.

“Nope!”   The Undertaker broke into a fit of laugher, banging on what you guessed was a table.

‘Why didn’t I hide the bodies…’ you mentally scolded yourself for forgetting such a simple task.

“Honestly, William I don’t see why we didn’t just kill the little winch in the first place?” You wrinkled your nose  disgust at the reapers comment.

“Because, Mr. Sutcliff, you let her get away.”

“ Atleast, she won’t be able to move out of the area for a while due to the ‘injury’ she sustained, the reaper chucked lightly at that, :"so finding her shouldn’t be all that difficult and besides, the more we look for her the more time I get to spend with you.”  You heard a WHACK  quickly you  clasped a hand of your mouth at hearing the redheaded reaper yelp in pain.

“What was that?” William’s voice cut the momentary silence,“Hehehe, just the rats, they like to visit from time to time, while I work all by my lonesome”

“Yes, well- good evening Undertaker;” William replied sounding slightly disturbed “Hehehe, good night gentlemen”.

“ Well now, my little fairy….heehe,” the lid was suddenly lifted up on your coffi and placed aside.  The Undertaker leaned down on you long silvery locks hiding his curious eyes, “it seems you’ve upset a lot of important people, care to explain how it is you’ve managed that?”

He reached down to help you up, “I-um… don’t know what you’re talking about.”  His Cheshire smile widened even further, “Well, now I can always call back my friends, I’m sure they’d be delighted to refresh your mem- NO! Please” you sprang out of the coffin your (e/c) orbs fearful.

“Seems that settles that, now why don’t we get you cleaned up he pointed to the  and you can tell me all about this situation you’ve gotten yourself into, hmmm?”

With a small nod, he lead you into a bathroom; sitting on the edge of the tub you studied him as he pulled out a small medical kit from the cabinet.

"Do you have a name, little fairy?" he sat down beside you, his all black attire flowing to the ground. He didn't at all bothered by the look you were giving him, pulling out a  small needle and thread from the box "(Y/n)-" you replied quietly  as he wiped your arm with an alcohol swab, causing you to hiss slightly at the instant chill. Your nails began  to dig into the tub's edge as he carefully began to stitch up your injuries. "I usually don't work with living victims, my apologies if this hurts, my other clients ususally don't complain," he chuckled.

He moved about your wounds, carefully cleaning, sewing, and bandaging; though the biggest was saved for last.

“(Y/N)?  How is it I'm supposed to fix you up if I can't get to the wound?" The Undertaker tapped your shoulder with his bony finger , almost instantly you shook your head, "No".

Inside you were afraid… no terrified to show him your wings, afraid you'd end up just like the rest of your family... your friends ...your people.

Humans, and other demon breeds alike hunted your kind for their prized wings.

A trophy of sorts one could call it, iron chains were used to burn off the bone and muscle that bonded them to the back, the pain sometimes so intense it killed them, if not the suffering from the burns, then the poachers did. Erklings were considered low in the demon world, so it didn't matter that they were hunted like animals.

Quickly you shook your head again, trying to erase those painful memories and thoughts, wrapping your (s/t) arms around you trying to comfort yourself. The undertaker wouldn't hurt you like that would he?

"No, it's fine, they'll heal”,  you insisted hurriedly getting to your feet, knees wobbly and weak from sitting so long you needed to leave, get away, you feared losing your wings too much to stay here.

"Where do you think you’re going (y/n)? Leaving me all by me lonesome, eh? He cackled. "I’ve caused you enough trouble already; really I’ll just be on my way,”   you smiled masking your fear and turning to leave  your torn (f/c) dress swishing behind you,“Little Fairy,” the Undertaker called to you,  “Do be careful, keep in mind looks can be deceiving”.

You nodded at the trivial piece of advice; after all who would know this better than a demon.

*in another part of the city*

"My lord, are you absolutely sure this is the way you want to catch our killer?”  The butler looked down at his master now dressed in commoners clothing.

“Our murder is attacking children; it seems that setting a trap would prove beneficial, yes. Now go “

 “Yes my lord”.
